If you only want stock synced for some of your products, product tags let you choose which ones. You can sync only the products that carry certain tags, or sync everything except the products that carry certain tags.
You set up tag-based stock syncing in the Stock Syncer settings.
To control stock syncing with product tags, you need the Growth plan or higher, or a Stock Syncer free trial.
Set up tag-based stock syncing
In Shuttle, open Stock Syncer and click Settings. You can also go to Settings → Stock Syncer → General.
Find the Ignore or process products by specific tags section.
Under Tag processing rule, choose one option:
Include only products with these tags: Shuttle syncs stock only for products that have at least one of your tags.
Exclude products with these tags: Shuttle syncs stock for all products except those that have any of your tags.
Process all products: Shuttle ignores tags and syncs everything.
In the Tags field, type your tags with a comma between them, for example: Summer2025, Clearance, Digital.
Click Save.
An include or exclude rule with an empty Tags field syncs all products.
Examples of tag rules for stock syncing
Include only products with these tags: if you enter "Summer2025", Shuttle only syncs stock for products tagged "Summer2025".
Exclude products with these tags: if you enter "Clearance", Shuttle syncs stock for every product except those tagged "Clearance".
Where to add the tags Shuttle checks for stock syncing
Add the tags to your products in Shopify, because Shuttle checks Shopify tags on every stock sync. When stock changes on Etsy, a matching tag on the Etsy listing can also count.
How Shuttle matches product tags
Shuttle compares each product's tags with the tags you entered in the Tags field:
Capital letters don't matter, so "clearance" matches "Clearance".
A product's tag must match one of your tags in full. Part of a tag doesn't count, so "Summer" does not match "Summer2025".
See which products a tag rule skipped
When Shuttle skips a product because of its tags, the Stock Syncer's sync history shows a warning for it. For example, you might see "Excluded by tag(s): Clearance" or "Not Included, missing tag(s): Summer2025".
