When Shuttle transfers a product from Etsy, you decide whether it goes live in your Shopify store right away or waits as a draft until you are ready. You can also have new products added to Shopify sales channels beyond your Online Store.
Choose whether transferred products are published or saved as drafts
The Default status setting decides whether products Shuttle transfers from Etsy go live in Shopify or are saved as drafts.
In Shuttle, go to Settings > Products > Etsy → Shopify.
Find the Product visibility section.
Under Default status, choose one option:
Publish all products: transferred products are live in your Shopify store right away. This is the default.
Hide as drafts: transferred products are saved as drafts. They stay hidden until you publish them yourself in Shopify.
Save your changes.
You can change the Product visibility settings at any time. A change applies to the next products Shuttle transfers or updates.
Why was a transferred product saved as a draft?
A transferred product can be saved as a draft even when Default status is set to Publish all products. This happens in two cases:
The Etsy listing is not active. For example, it is a draft, inactive or sold out on Etsy. Shuttle saves the product as a draft so it does not go live in Shopify before it is live on Etsy.
Shuttle transferred the listing automatically. New listings that Shuttle transfers on its own are saved as drafts.
To publish automatically transferred products straight away, go to Settings > Products > Etsy → Shopify and turn on Automatically publish transferred products in the Automatic product transfers section. When Default status is set to Hide as drafts, automatically transferred products are still saved as drafts.
Publish transferred products to more sales channels
Shuttle always publishes transferred products to your Online Store, and you can choose other Shopify sales channels as well.
In Shuttle, go to Settings > Products > Etsy → Shopify and find the Product visibility section.
Under Publish to sales channels, check each extra sales channel you want. The list shows the sales channels in your Shopify store.
Save your changes.
If Publish to sales channels does not appear, your store has no sales channels other than the Online Store.
Sales channels are only added when Shuttle creates a new product in Shopify. Updating a product does not add it to sales channels, so to add products that are already in Shopify to a channel, do it in Shopify.
A product saved as a draft is still added to your chosen sales channels. It does not show there until you publish it in Shopify.
How updating a product changes its Shopify status
When you update products and include their status, Shuttle follows the same rules as when it transfers them. With Default status set to Publish all products, an update makes the product active in Shopify again, even if you set it to draft yourself in Shopify.
An update sets the product to draft in Shopify when its Etsy listing is not active.
