Etsy refused the list of tags Shuttle sent for this product.
Why it happens
Etsy allows at most 13 tags per listing. Each tag can be up to 20 characters long and can only use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes. Duplicate tags are not allowed. Shuttle cleans the tags before it sends them, but Etsy can still reject the list.
Sometimes the message has extra text in brackets right after "Etsy rejected the product's tags". That text is Etsy's own reason, and it can help you find the tag to fix.
The tags come from four places you can check:
The product's tags in Shopify, when Transfer Shopify tags is on.
Your custom tags. A [TYPE], [VENDOR] or [CATEGORY] placeholder becomes the product's type, vendor or category.
The Shopify metafield you set up for tags.
Tags written by the AI SEO Assistant, when Tags is ticked there.
How to fix it
In Shopify, open the product and check its tags against Etsy's rules. Fix or remove any tag that breaks them.
In Shuttle, go to Settings → Products → Shopify → Etsy and scroll to the Tags section.
Under Add custom tags, check each tag. If you use placeholders, check that the product's type, vendor and category also follow the rules.
Under Tags from metafield, check the tags stored in that metafield on this product.
If you use the AI SEO Assistant, untick Tags in the transfer window. If the product was transferred automatically, untick Tags in the AI SEO Assistant part of the Automatic Product Transfers section on the same settings page.
Transfer the product again. If the error came from an update of a product that is already on Etsy, update the product again instead and keep Tags ticked in the Update product window.
