Shuttle stopped an update to Etsy because the Shopify product has more than 400 variants, and Etsy cannot take that many when their prices or SKUs differ. Nothing on the Etsy listing was changed.
Why it happens
You see this message only when all three of these are true:
You are updating a product that is already on Etsy. A new transfer shows a different message.
SKU, Price or Quantity is selected for the update.
The product has more than 400 variants in Shopify, and the variants have different prices or different SKUs. Check the variant list on the product in Shopify.
If every variant has the same price and there are no different SKUs, the update can go ahead.
How to fix it
To update the other details, such as the title, description or images:
In Shuttle, go to Products and open the Shopify → Etsy tab.
Find the product and click Update in Etsy.
In the Update product window, under Inventory & shipping, untick SKU, Price and Quantity. Quantity is ticked by default.
Leave Recreate Etsy inventory unticked.
Click Update Etsy product.
If you update many products at once, go to Products, click Transfer or update products and choose Shopify → Etsy. Under Fields to update on duplicates, untick Overwrite all fields first. While that box is ticked, SKU, Price and Quantity are all still sent. Then untick SKU, Price and Quantity under Core fields. Quantity is ticked by default here too.
To keep prices, SKUs and stock in sync with Etsy, the product needs 400 variants or fewer. In Shopify, remove variants you no longer sell, or split the product into smaller products, then run the update again.
Still seeing it?
