How to Map Etsy Categories to Shopify Collections
Step 1: Access the Mapping Settings
Log in to Shuttle and navigate to the Map Etsy ↔ Shopify menu, then select the Categories ↔ Collections page.
Step 2: Add and Match Mappings
You will see a table where you can define your custom rules:
Etsy Categories (left): Click Select Category to search for a specific Etsy category. Since Etsy has thousands of options, try to be specific with your search terms.
Shopify Collections (right): Click Select Collection to search for the corresponding Shopify Collection you’d like to link.
You can create as many rows as you need to cover your different product lines.
Step 3: Set Your Priority
If a product matches multiple categories or collections, Shuttle uses a "top-down" approach. You can organize your mappings so that the most important rules are at the top of the list. Shuttle will always assign the first match it finds.
Step 4: Save Your Changes
Your mappings are saved automatically as you select them. These rules will be applied to all future product transfers.

Understanding Priority: Shuttle checks your settings in a specific order. It first looks at the Category Mapping page for direct category-to-category matches. If no match is found there, it then checks these Collection-based mappings.
Specific Searching: Because the Etsy taxonomy is so large, Shuttle returns the top 20 results for your search. If you don't see the category you're looking for, try a more specific search term.
Using the Category-to-Collection mapping feature ensures your store structure remains consistent and professional across both platforms.
