If you sell through Google's sales channel, Google may need extra attributes on a product before it approves it. Which attributes it needs depends on the product's category, and some products need none.
Shuttle can fill in the attributes Google asks for most often when you transfer products from Etsy to Shopify. That way you don't have to add them by hand afterwards.
Which Google Shopping attributes can Shuttle fill in?
Shuttle can fill in these Google Shopping attributes when you transfer products from Etsy to Shopify:
Gender
Age Group
Color
Size
Condition
Material
Pattern
Set up Google Shopping attributes
To set up Google Shopping attributes, tell Shuttle which Etsy attributes to read for each one.
In Shuttle, go to Settings > Products > General and scroll to Google Shopping.
Tick Enable Google Shopping support.
For each attribute, in Source attributes / options, enter the name of the Etsy attribute Shuttle should read. For example, for Color you could enter Primary Color. You can enter more than one name, separated by commas.
If you like, set a Default value for each attribute. Shuttle uses it when the Etsy listing has none of the source attributes you entered.
Click Save.
How Shuttle picks the value for each Google Shopping attribute
Shuttle takes each Google Shopping attribute's value from the source attributes you entered, and how it does that depends on the attribute:
Color: if more than one source attribute has a value, Shuttle combines the colors with a slash, for example Blue/White.
Every other attribute: Shuttle uses a single value, taken from the first source attribute it finds on the listing.
Gender, Age Group and Condition accept only certain values. Shuttle recognises common Etsy wording, so Women becomes Female and Baby becomes Infant. If the Etsy value doesn't match an accepted value, Shuttle uses your Default value instead.
Set Condition from the listing's age
You can set the Condition attribute from the listing's age by entering When made as the source for Condition. Shuttle then sets vintage listings to Used and all other listings to New.
Does Shuttle overwrite Google Shopping values already on a Shopify product?
No. If a Shopify product already has a value for one of these Google Shopping attributes, Shuttle leaves it unchanged.
Add Google Shopping attributes to products you've already transferred
Shuttle can fill in missing Google Shopping attributes on products you've already transferred. To do that, update the Shopify product from Etsy and include Metafields in the update.
