Prevent Missing Stock Levels by Setting Default Quantities During Transfers

Updated this week

When transferring products from Shopify to Etsy, you may need a fallback stock quantity. Shuttle allows setting a default stock quantity that will automatically apply under certain conditions:

  • Shopify isn’t tracking inventory for the product.

  • Shopify tracks inventory at the product level, but its variants have differing stock levels.

  • Shopify allows overselling, and the product’s quantity is zero or negative.

This ensures transferred products always have a sensible stock level, avoiding situations where Etsy might reject or misinterpret the listing.

To use this option:

  1. Navigate to Product Settings → Shopify to Etsy → Stock Quantity.

  2. Enter your desired default quantity (0-999).

  3. Save the settings.

Tip: If you'd rather always reflect the lowest variant quantity from Shopify, see the article "Using Lowest Shopify Variant Stock Quantity on Etsy".
