When syncing stock from Shopify to Etsy, Shuttle provides two specific settings to ensure stock quantities are updated correctly based on how your Etsy listings are structured. This flexibility helps you maintain accurate inventory across both platforms, whether Etsy manages stock at the product level or the option (property) level.
1. When Quantity Is Managed on Etsy at the Product Level
On Etsy, some products manage stock at the product (parent) level instead of for each individual variation.
In these cases, Shuttle can automatically update the Etsy product's overall quantity based on the lowest available stock level among the Shopify product's variations.
How it Works:
Shuttle checks all Shopify variations tied to the Etsy product.
It identifies the lowest available stock across these variations.
It updates the Etsy product’s parent quantity with this value.
Example:
If your Shopify product variations have 10, 5, and 3 units in stock, Shuttle will set the Etsy product's overall stock to 3.
Should You Enable This?
Enable this setting if you have Etsy products that manage stock at the product (parent) level.
Disable if you only manage stock at the variation level on Etsy.
How to Enable:
In Stock Syncer Settings, check "Update Etsy parent stock based on Shopify variations".
2. When Quantity Is Managed on Etsy at the Option Level
Etsy also allows stock quantities to be managed by specific product options (like size or color), rather than individual variations.
In these cases, Shuttle can update Etsy variations based on the matching option name, ensuring stock stays accurate across related variations.
How it Works:
Shuttle looks at the stock levels for Shopify variations associated with a specific option name.
It applies the lowest quantity across those variations to all matching Etsy variations for that option.
Example:
If you sell a T-shirt available in 3 sizes and 5 colors:
A Shopify sale for Size "Small" and Color "Blue" happens.
Shuttle will update the quantity for all Etsy variations with Size "Small", regardless of color.
Should You Enable This?
Enable this setting if your Etsy listings manage stock quantities by option (such as size or color).
Disable if your Etsy listings manage stock only at the product or variation level without specific option-based inventory.
How to Enable:
In Stock Syncer Settings, check "Update Etsy variations based on an option name".
Choosing the right setting ensures Shuttle accurately reflects your available stock on Etsy, reducing the risk of overselling and keeping your inventory synchronized effortlessly.
