When your products have videos, Shuttle can carry them across as it transfers or updates products, in either direction. You decide which videos go across and whether Shuttle may replace videos already on the product. For Shopify products, you also choose where the videos sit in the media gallery.
Send Etsy videos to Shopify
Etsy videos reach your Shopify products through the Video section in Settings > Products > Etsy → Shopify. Two settings there control what goes across:
Include Etsy videos: turn this on to send the Etsy listing's videos (up to 2) to the Shopify product. When it is off, Shuttle leaves the product's Shopify videos alone.
Do not upload videos if Shopify product already has videos: when the Shopify product has a video you added yourself, Shuttle sends no Etsy videos to it.
Videos that Shuttle sent to a Shopify product earlier do not count as videos you added yourself. So when a Shopify product only has videos from Shuttle, Shuttle replaces them when the video changes on Etsy.
Removing a video on Etsy also removes Shuttle's copy from Shopify. Shuttle never deletes videos you added in Shopify yourself.
Choose where Etsy videos appear in Shopify
The Video position setting decides where the first Etsy video goes in the Shopify product's media gallery. You can pick any position from Featured media (1st position) to 10th position, and a second Etsy video goes right after the first.
Choosing Featured media (1st position) makes the video your product's featured media.
Send Shopify videos to Etsy
Shopify videos reach your Etsy listings through the Video section in Settings > Products > Shopify → Etsy. Etsy allows 2 videos per listing, and two settings control what goes across:
Videos to send to Etsy: choose None, First Shopify video or First 2 Shopify videos. Shuttle takes them in the order they appear in your Shopify product's media.
Never overwrite videos added on Etsy: when this is on and the Etsy listing has a video you added on Etsy, Shuttle sends no videos to it. When it is off, new Shopify videos replace the listing's videos, including ones you added on Etsy.
When an Etsy listing only has videos Shuttle sent earlier, Shuttle replaces them when they change in Shopify.
Stop Shuttle from changing videos during updates
If you never want Shuttle to change videos when it updates a product, select Video in the Master Switch, which is on the same settings tab as the Video section.
Why a video was not added to Shopify
Shopify sometimes refuses a video, for example because your Shopify store has reached its video limit or because the file is too large. When that happens, the product still transfers, and Shuttle shows a message saying the video could not be added.
