Here's how you can configure these tag management settings in Shuttle:
Transferring Product Tags
Choose whether you want Shuttle to transfer existing tags from one platform to the other.
Enable "Transfer Tags": Shuttle will copy the existing tags from your source platform (Shopify or Etsy) to the target platform.
Disable: Shuttle won't transfer any tags.
Excluding Specific Tags
If certain tags shouldn't appear on the destination platform, you can exclude them easily.
How to use: Enter tag names to exclude, separated by commas.
Benefit: Keeps your product tags clean and platform-specific.
Example:
If your Etsy tags include "Handmade, EtsySeller, Vintage," and you wish to exclude "EtsySeller," simply enter it into the exclusion field. Shuttle will transfer all tags except "EtsySeller."
Adding Custom Tags
You can automatically add custom tags to all transferred or updated products.
How to use: Enter the tag names separated by commas.
Placeholders available:
[TYPE]: Replaced by the product's type.[VENDOR]: Replaced by the product's vendor.[CATEGORY]: Replaced by the product's category.
Benefit: Enhance organization and searchability by adding context-specific tags automatically.
Example:
Entering [CATEGORY], Imported will add a tag with the product’s category and another "Imported" tag.
Shopify-Specific: Adding Tags from Shopify Metafields
If your Etsy tags are stored within a Shopify metafield, Shuttle can pull tags directly from it during transfer.
How to use: Enter the exact metafield key name as it appears in Shopify.
Benefit: Utilize pre-organized tags already stored within Shopify's metafields for efficient product tagging.
Etsy-Specific Tag Management Options
Assigning Etsy Categories as Tags
You can add Etsy categories directly as tags in Shopify.
Options available:
Assign the bottom-level Etsy category only.
Assign all Etsy categories.
Do not assign Etsy categories.
Benefit: Enhances product discoverability by translating structured Etsy categories into Shopify tags.
Adding Etsy Section Names to Tags
How to use: Enable the checkbox to include the Etsy section names as tags.
Benefit: Helps organize products on Shopify in line with your existing Etsy store structure.
Adding Etsy Product ID to Tags
How to use: Enable the checkbox to add each product’s Etsy ID as a Shopify tag.
Benefit: Provides an efficient way to quickly locate products in Shopify using their Etsy product IDs.
