Reviewer name does not match the actual name in the CSV file

The reviewer names in your reviews CSV depend on two settings in the Reviewer's Name section of your review settings. Either one can make an exported name look different from the name on Etsy.

Why the name looks different

  • The name format shortens it. Shuttle shapes every exported name with the name format you choose. The default is "Full first name, and only initial of last name", so a reviewer called Michelle Doe appears as Michelle D.

  • Shuttle exported a pseudonym. When the option to export reviewers' real names is turned off, Shuttle replaces each reviewer's name with a made-up one. This protects reviewers' privacy and does not affect the SEO value of your reviews. The name format applies to pseudonyms too.

Change how names appear

  1. Open your review settings and go to the Reviewer's Name section.

  2. To export real names, turn on the option to export reviewers' real names. Only do this if you have Etsy's required consent from each reviewer. Without it, your reviews app may redact the reviews.

  3. In the name format drop-down, choose how names should look. To export the whole name, choose Display Full Name.

  4. Save your settings.

Export your reviews again

Your changes only apply to CSV files you create after saving. Export your reviews again in Shuttle and choose All reviews, so the reviews you already exported are included. The new CSV file will use your updated reviewer name settings.
